Biography

Professor Josip Car serves as the Head of King's School of Life Course & Population Sciences and holds the Chair in Population and Digital Health Sciences. With over 400 multidisciplinary experts, the School operates globally, pioneering world-changing discoveries and translating them into advances in medicine and health systems.

Prior to joining King's he served in a range of leadership roles in Singapore and the UK including as the Founding Director of the WHO Centre for Digital Health and Health Education, Director of Public Health, Primary and Integrated Care at Imperial College Healthcare, Director of NIHR Primary Care Research Network for London (NW) and Director of Global Digital Health Unit.

Professor Car brings a triple-track record of academic, clinical, and executive leadership. He has been leading and advising on health systems, population and digital health, AI for health innovations, having worked in multiple health systems and with diverse organizations including with the WHO, Ministries of Health and industry. Professor Car is dedicated to advancing precision, personalized population health within a learning health system.
